On Familiar Ground
East Carolina's David Garrard gets a pitch away under pressure from Marshall
during the during the December 19 GMAC Bowl, which the Herd won 64-61 in
double-overtime. Garrard, who quarterbacked the Pirates on the same field in
a loss to Texas Christian two seasons ago in the inaugural Mobile Alabama
Bowl, gets one more chance to set things right in Ladd-Peebles Stadium on
January 26. The record-setting Durham senior has been selected to play in
the Senior Bowl, a prestigious All-Star showcase game for NFL prospects.
