David Bell (6-7, 190) F, LaSalle University, Philadelphia ... Bell transferred to ECU in the summer of 2004 after starting 25 of 29 games as a sophomore for the Explorers. He averaged 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 21 minutes per game in 2003-04. He averaged 7.5 points in 29 games as a freshman. ... Expressed reason for leaving LaSalle was that he was playing out of position inside. The program also went through a coaching change. ... Bell played three seasons at Onley High, where he was a Philadelphia Daily News second team All-Public selection in 2001. ... Played his senior year of prep ball at Mount Zion Academy in Durham, averaging 14.2 points. ... Must sit out the 2004-05 season at ECU and had preseason knee surgery that will keep him out of practice for two to three months. ... Born Feb. 14, 1983.

Dwight Burke (6-8, 230) F, St. Benedict's Prep, Newark, N.J. ... Visited campus the weekend of the Cincinnati football game on Sept. 25 and committed to the Pirates on Oct. 13. ... Spent his first two high school years at Chriatiana High in Delaware before transferring to Manhattan (N.Y.) Rice. ... A physical player with a good frame. ... His current high school coach is Danny Hurley, a former Seton Hall player who is the younger brother of former Duke guard Bobby Hurley. ... ECU associate head coach Greg Herenda was an assistant at Seton Hall when Hurley played there. ... Burke is the first of the incoming class to emerge from the ECU pipeline to the New York-Philadelphia corridor.
