Bucs bomb Coastal Carolina

A three-point spree by
junior guards Sam Hinnant and James Legan helped East Carolina halt its
two-game slump with an 89-64 victory over Coastal Carolina Wednesday
night in Greenville.
Each of the junior guards
drilled five threes with Hinnant scoring a game-high 23 points and Legan
recording a career-high 19 points.
The Pirates (5-7) also got
double-figure scoring from sophomore forward John Fields with 11 points
and sophomore guard Brandon Evans with 10 points. Fields' contribution
for the night included a game-high 9 rebounds.
Coastal Carolina (6-6) was
led by senior guards Jack Leasure (16 points) and Everage Richardson (13
points) and junior guard Mario Sisinni (10 points).
The win was East
Carolina's first since its victory over North Carolina State on Dec. 8.
Since springing that milestone upset, the Pirates had lost back-to-back
home games to UNC-Wilmington and NAIA member Lee University.
East Carolina will
complete its non-conference schedule when it hosts North Carolina
Central on Saturday at 7 p.m. (TV: TWC).
The Pirates' Conference
USA slate begins with an 8 p.m. matchup next Wednesday at league
favorite and nationally-second-ranked Memphis (TV: CSS).
