Box Score

FAYETTEVILLE — Derrick Wiley, Erroyl Bing and Moussa Badiane did their part Saturday to ensure that losing would not develop into a trend for East Carolina.

Wiley scored 21 points, Bing recorded a double-double and Badiane was perfect from the floor as ECU bounced back from its first loss of the season with an 86-61 win Saturday over Campbell.

The Pirates (8-1) had tied their best start in school history before losing Thursday to George Mason.

East Carolina got balanced scoring with five players in double figures. Bing had 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, while Badiane, playing in a reserve role, had 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting.

ECU led 39-30 at halftime and used a 25-4 run early in the second half to take a commanding lead.

The Pirates held Campbell's starting frontline to 11 points and five rebounds. East Carolina out-rebounded Campbell 51-22, including a 21-6 margin on the offensive boards.

Tarick Johnson led the Camels (3-4) with 21 points and Corey Parker added 12.

The Pirates played a second straight game without point guard Travis Holcomb-Faye, who is sidelined with academic problems.

The game was played at Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum.
